Deer Tick originated as a John McCauley solo project in December 2004. Beginning his touring career with the help of Brendon Massei (Viking Moses), McCauley had toured extensively across the United States by the age of 19. In do it yourself fashion, he released three cassettes and numerous CD-Rs in this time period, and the project eventually evolved into what is now known as Deer Tick. Enjoy…

International filmmakers, surfers, artists and ocean buffs alike will gather in San Diego May 11-13, 2012 for the first ever San Diego Surf Film Festival (SDSFF). The inaugural event — which is slated to screen 12 feature-length films and 20 short films centered around surfing — will be held at Bird’s Surf Shed in San Diego, a world famous restored quonset hut filled with an impressive collection of historically significant surfboards and artifacts. The names of the films to be shown will be announced April 14. For more go check out SURFERMAG.COM…

Rusty Surfboards team rider, Holly Beck, is one cool chica… She lives the life of a global nomad, but has her home base in Nicaragua, where she is leading by example and teaching others how to develop their property sustainably and how to give back to the local communities.
